MDOT meeting to discuss US-2/US-41/M-35 bridge
replacement project over the Escanaba River
WHAT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to a meeting to discuss bridge construction scheduled for 2017 and 2018 on US-2/US-41/M-35 over the Escanaba River and the nearby E&LS Railroad bridge in Wells Township. There will be a short presentation at 4 p.m. but the public is invited to stop by any time during the two-hour period to learn more about the project. Both MDOT and contractor representatives will be available to answer questions.

BACKGROUND:
The bridge over the Escanaba River and the nearby E&LS Railroad bridge will be removed and replaced beginning this April, with completion expected in 2018. During construction, one lane of traffic will be open in each direction on US-2, with the exception of four separate mid-week detours for approximately seven days total. When in place (on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday only), the detour route will be via Delta County roads 426, 420, 531, and M-35.
