PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be investing $1.6 million to repair the US-23 bascule bridge over the Cheboygan River. This project will include substructure and steel repairs, as well as electrical and mechanical upgrades, and painting the steel superstructure.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Work is scheduled to begin on Jan. 3, 2017, with through-traffic detoured on Lafayette Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, and M-27 (South State Street). The bridge will be closed to traffic for up to six consecutive weeks during construction. At other times, two-way traffic will be maintained on the bridge with traffic shifts. Access to all local businesses and residences will be accommodated at all times.
