US-31 resurfacing through Pellston to begin Aug. 15

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be resurfacing 7.2 miles of US-31 in Emmet County, from Milton Road north through Pellston to Douglas Lake Road. This $2.1 million project includes concrete joint and crack repairs and new asphalt pavement.

In 2017, MDOT will reconstruct 4.2 miles of US-31 from Douglas Lake Road north to Levering. That $5.9 million project is tentatively scheduled to begin in April 2017, and be completed in October 2017.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
This project will require lane closures with flag control. Access to homes and businesses will be accommodated at all times.
