State-owned property in seven counties available at auction now through Dec. 2

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is offering 11 state-owned properties in seven counties for sale by sealed-bid auction at www.michigan.gov/landforsale. The auction runs now through Dec. 2, 2014. This auction includes properties that were listed on the DNR calendar for approval in 2014.

Properties range in size from about 1 acre to 80 acres and are located in Alpena, Cheboygan, Clare, Isabella, Midland, Montmorency and Presque Isle counties. They vary in character and cover. Parcels may not have legal access. Prospective buyers are encouraged to research the fitness of a property for its intended use. The minimum bid price is expected to range from $3,000 to more than $150,000. Sealed bids must be postmarked no later than Dec. 2, 2014, and will be opened Dec. 15, 2014.

Details about each property (including the minimum bid amount, photos, map, property descriptions and conditions of sale) are available online. Instructions for submitting a bid are given on the printable bid form. A list of the properties with general locations can be found at www.michigan.gov/landforsale.

Most of these properties were acquired by tax reversion They do not meet the current recreation and resource management goals of the department. Proceeds from sale provide future outdoor recreation opportunities in keeping with the mission of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Printed property information and bid forms may be requested from the DNR Real Estate Services Section, P.O. Box 30448, Lansing, MI 48909-7948 or by calling 517-284-5962.

Other unsold surplus land from previous auctions remains available for purchase at the listed price. View these properties by clicking “Surplus Land to BUY NOW!”
