Michigan State Waterways Commission to meet April 25 in Houghton Lake

The Michigan State Waterways Commission (MSWC) will hold its regular meeting on Friday, April 25. The meeting will be held at the Comfort Suites Hotel Meeting Room, 100 Clearview Drive in Houghton Lake, Mich. The public meeting will begin at 10 a.m., with a work session at 8 a.m. before the regular meeting.

Topics for the meeting will include Waterway Grant Resolutions for awards and suggested modification requests to the grant process. The applicants receiving awards also will be discussed.

The Michigan State Waterways Commission is an advisory group, created by Public Act 451 of 1994, Part 781, to address issues concerning public boating opportunities in the state of Michigan, including acquisition, construction and maintenance of recreational harbors, channels, docking and launching facilities; administration of commercial docks in the Straits of Mackinac; and advice on regulations and grant funding for the Great Lakes Harbors of Refuge.
