DNR “MiRecGrants” online application goes live Monday, Feb. 10

Recreation Grant Programs

The new Web-based application for Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Recreation Grants - called “MiRecGrants” -will go live on Monday, Feb. 10.  Use the link below to access the MiRecGrants web portal and register to become a user of this system!

MiRecGrants is where you will apply for public outdoor recreation grants for the following DNR-administered programs:

  • Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund
  • Land and Water Conservation Fund
  • Recreation Passport Local Grant Program

Eligible applicants such as local units of government, some recreation authorities and the DNR must register in the system and be approved in order to initiate an application.  The eligible agency must appoint an Authorized Official for their agency.  The Authorized Official is the agency representative who may register his or her agency, initiate an application, add individuals to work on the application (including consultants who have registered in the system), and submit the application.  Eligible applicants determine who the Authorized Official is for their agency.

Engineering firms and other consultants who may assist eligible applicants in completing grant applications must go to the Web portal and submit a request to become a registered user before assisting eligible applicants within MiRecGrants.  The engineering firm/consultant must appoint an Authorized Official for the company.  The Authorized Official will be able to register the company in MiRecGrants and add employees that may be assisting eligible applicants in completing an application.  Registered engineering firms/consultants may then be added by eligible applicants to work on their respective applications.  Engineering firms/consultants determine who the Authorized Official will be for their company.  Please note:  Engineering firms and consultants may not initiate, certify or submit an application.
