If you are having trouble finding rifle and pistol ammunition, focus on shooting your shotgun on Sundays instead. The automatic clay target throwers are available at the Ortonville, Pontiac Lake, Rose Lake and Sharonville ranges on Sundays from May through September. Range staff will load the throwers for your pulling. The Sharonville and Rose Lake hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Ortonville and Pontiac Lake hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The DNR-staffed ranges will be open on Memorial Day, May 27.
The 2013 hunting and fishing licenses are available, and you can purchase them online 24-hours a day or make a campground reservation at Michigan's 101 state parks and recreation areas at www.michigan/gov/campgroundreservations. Campground reservations can be made up to the end of October.
Have fun at the shooting ranges and thanks for your support. You can view updated information about the ranges at www.michigan.gov/shootingranges.
