What is the Eddy Discovery Center?


Whether your students are fascinated with bugs or afraid of them, love to find interesting rocks or have never thought much about them, Eddy Discovery Center has the program for your students!

The Center is a located within the Waterloo Recreation Area in Chelsea. Filled with interactive maps and exhibits, the center introduces visitors to the fascinating world of geology and to the diverse natural habitats that are found today within Waterloo's 20,000-plus acres. 

Staffed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the center provides a variety of learning opportunities both inside and outside on the surrounding trails. Learn more >>

How do I book a program?


Contact the Eddy Discovery Center's Interpreter, Katie McGlashen at 734-475-3170 or email mcglashenk@michigan.gov to ask questions and schedule a field trip. Programs are generally designed for 30 students, plus accompanying teachers and chaperons. All programs are FREE, however a $10 Recreation Passport is required for each vehicle entering the park.
