With Nature Awaits, every fourth grade classroom in Michigan is eligible for a free state park field trip designed to support their classroom learning and connect them with the natural world.
Each 90-minute trip includes:
- Hands-on activities aligned with curriculum standards in science, social studies, physical fitness and language arts.
- Up to $1,000 in transportation reimbursement for public schools.
- Additional lesson plans and activities for educators.
- Free passes for students to return to a state park of their choice with their families.
By stepping outside the classroom, your students will be able to see, touch and explore the concepts they have read about in textbooks. Together, they will learn about how our state parks are for everyone, and that a lifetime of spending time outdoors is good for our physical and mental health.
