The Michigan Department of Natural Resources wants to get you hooked on Freshwater Fishing, a new series of workshops at the Outdoor Adventure Center in Detroit. Each workshop offers an opportunity to learn more about specialty fishing.
The workshops will cover ice fishing, walleye and white bass fishing – in advance of those species’ spring runs in the Detroit River – and trout fishing.
DNR staff will discuss specific fish species, equipment recommendations, techniques and regulations. Participants will also have a chance to make their own equipment/tackle to take home and use.
“We are excited to offer these workshops to our guests and help advance their knowledge and skills in fishing,” said Patrick Endres, park interpreter at the Outdoor Adventure Center. “The staff working these workshops are committed to developing responsible and ethical anglers, and have a great time doing it!”
