Join lumber professionals for a four-day introduction to lumber grading workshop Dec. 4-7, to take place at Kirtland Community College's Grayling campus.
The workshop includes study and explanation of the National Hardwood Lumber Association Rules Book, emphasizing the basics of hardwood lumber inspection and the manufacturing of railroad ties. Professionals who could benefit from the course include yard workers, sawyers, edgers, sales and office staff and management.
Fee is $270 and includes a rules book, coffee and muffins, lunches, handouts and door prizes. Bring a notebook and pencil, eye protection, a calculator and a lumber rule if you have one.
