Check out some of the best tree climbers in the state as they compete at the 29th annual Michigan Tree Climbing Championship. You'll get to see arboriculture skills in action. Be sure to stop by Arbor Fair while you're there, where you can learn about trees and the tree care industry—including activities for kids!

This free event will be held Sept. 15-17 in Holland. Arbor Fair will run Saturday, Sept. 16.

Michigan Project Learning Tree is planning webinars and workshops about equity in green careers. Black foresters and conservation scientists make up less than 3% of the workforce, according to a recent United States Census survey.

The upcoming events are focused on the publication, "Black Faces in Green Spaces: The Journeys of Black Professionals in Green Careers." It was published collaboratively by Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Project Learning Tree.
