June 19-25 is Pollinator Week! This annual celebration in support of pollinator health, coordinated by Pollinator Partnership, is a time to raise awareness of pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. Follow along with Pollinator Week 2023 to learn about nearby activities and ways to help your local pollinators.

Join us for a pollinator BioBlitz

9:30 a.m. to noon
Oudolf Garden Detroit on Belle Isle

Explore birds, butterflies and other local wildlife, insects and plants as part of this free, family-friendly Pollinator Week celebration. Learn more during guided BioBlitz walks, where we come together to find and identify as many species as possible over a short period of time. Be a part of community science in a beautiful public garden – a natural setting in the heart of Detroit’s Belle Isle.

Parking is free at the Oudolf Garden, and picnic areas are available nearby.

This event is presented by MI Birds, a public outreach and education program from Audubon Great Lakes and Michigan Department of Natural Resources; Oudolf Garden Detroit; and partners Belle Isle Nature Center, Detroit Audubon, Detroit Butterfly Nursery, MSU Extension, National Wildlife Federation, Oakland University, University of Michigan Environmental Interpretive Center, the Xerces Society and Audubon Great Lakes' Wild Indigo Nature Explorations program.

Please note: if rain or thunderstorms are forecasted, the event will be cancelled.
