Handgun Course for a Concealed Pistol License

Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at Caledonia Sportsman's Club in Alto

This is the course required by state law to obtain a Michigan concealed pistol license (CPL), and will also include a basic class for the beginner. No previous shooting experience or skill level is needed to attend. Certified firearms instructors from the Great Lakes Outdoor Foundation will teach the two-day class, which will include basic firearm safety instruction and one-on-one coaching at the shooting range, followed by the training course required to obtain a CPL.

12th Annual Women's Mountain Biking Symposium

Saturday, May 19 at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township

Mountain biking is a great way to enjoy Michigan's beautiful outdoors while getting a good workout. Whether you have biked before, or you’re just getting started, this daylong symposium will teach you the basics and more. The program will include a Skills Clinic, Maintenance Clinic and a Mountain Biking 101 Q & A forum.
