Share your ideas for new or improved firefighting equipment

Have a great idea for firefighting equipment, but need an engineer to help make a concept into reality? Submit a proposal to our DNR Roscommon Equipment Center team.

The Roscommon Equipment Center is seeking proposals for innovative wildland firefighting projects. Housed in Michigan’s Forest Fire Experiment Station, the REC is a program serving wildland firefighting agencies across the nation. The program provides technical assistance, testing and fabrication of firefighting equipment.

A committee will review submitted proposals to determine which projects to start and then notify applicants of decisions. Proposals may be submitted at any time. For this round of consideration, please submit proposals by March 25.

Submit a proposal in three steps:

Step 1

Visit the REC website to learn about the program's work and projects.

Step 2

Download a proposal form and fill it out with your project idea.
