Interested in learning how to shoot? Check out these fun upcoming events:
Thursday, May 27, 6 to 8 p.m. Frankenmuth Conservation Club, 8415 E. Curtis Road, Frankenmuth, in Saginaw County
If you've ever wanted to learn to wing shoot, this class is for you. You will learn the basic skills of holding and shooting a gun at a moving target.
No shotgun experience is necessary. A shotgun and ammunition will be provided, or you can bring your own shotgun.
Registration is $25. Class size is limited to 10 students. You must be 18 or older to attend.
Participants should bring their own eye and ear protection.
Additional classes will be held June 24, July 22, Aug. 12 and Sept. 16.

Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fish Creek Sportsman’s Club, 11620 S. County Line Road, Hubbardston, in Montcalm County
This women’s-only event offers no-pressure gun shooting instruction and an introduction to the abundant shooting sports, habitat, gun safety and outdoor recreation resources in Michigan.
There will be three stations, with instructors to help:
- Combined trap and skeet
- .22 pistol
- .22 rifle
Participants can bring boys and girls, ages 6-12, to enjoy the BB gun trailer.
Cost is $60 for adults, $10 for youth, and includes lunch, prizes, a T-shirt and a one-year Pheasants Forever membership.
