A farmer smiles at the camera from behind a table filled with flowers and vegetables.

The Farmers Market at Cambridge Junction Historic State Park is the largest of its kind in southeast Michigan. Here, at the historic crossroads where Sylvester Walker fed weary travelers in the mid 1800s, you'll find more than 50 vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods and locally produced crafts.

New for 2021! Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Friends of Walker Tavern are moving the 2021 Farmers Market from the park to the Village of Onsted. The market will be located in The Village Park (behind the Fire Station at 135 N. Main St., Onsted, MI)

The Farmers Market will run every Sunday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. from May 23, 2021 through October 3, 2021.

Call for Proposals for Michigan Freedom Trail Commission's 2021 Underground Railroad Heritage Gathering

Gateway to Freedom International Memorial to the Underground Railroad on the Detroit River.

The Michigan Freedom Trail Commission and the Michigan History Center, in partnership with the William L. Clements Library, invite proposals for presentations to be given at the fourth annual Michigan Underground Railroad Heritage Gathering.

The conference will be held virtually, over multiple dates during the month of September; as well as with a tentative in-person session scheduled for October 2 at the Clements Library on the Ann Arbor campus of the University of Michigan.

The Heritage Gathering is an annual conference for individuals, organizations and communities interested in our state’s Underground Railroad heritage. Building off the previous years and the 2020 virtual Heritage Gathering, the 2021 conference will provide a variety of opportunities for learning and networking through keynote speakers, workshops, and group and individual presentations. It will continue to foster opportunities for collaboration.

For more information, read the Underground Railroad Heritage Gathering Call for Proposals.
