Annual REC fire equipment workshop goes virtual

Innovation in wildland firefighting equipment is the mission of Michigan's Forest Fire Experiment Station and the Roscommon Equipment Center program. Want to see their latest projects and learn more? 

Join the first virtual REC workshop, Jan. 13, 2021 from 1 to 3:30 p.m., to learn about REC programs and walk through the steps to submit a proposal for the design and creation of new firefighting equipment.

The REC provides fire agencies across the nation with specialized equipment designed and brought to life at its cutting-edge fabrication shop.  

The no-cost, virtual workshop will include presentations on: 

  • The history of the Forest Fire Experiment Station
  • Roscommon Equipment Center fire equipment projects
  • Michigan DNR air operations 
  • The Federal Excess Property Program
  • Power Bully equipment designed at the REC
  • How to submit a project proposal
