highland grassland with fall colors

- Volunteer Stewardship Workday -

As we continue our fall workdays, we want to remind you about ongoing procedures and protocols to help slow the spread of the coronavirus and ensure the safety of volunteers, staff and visitors. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Registration is required because space may be limited to help comply with social distancing guidelines.
  • Although this is an outdoor program, please remember to stay at least 6 feet from people who aren’t from your household and wear a mask if you’re going to be near others.
  • Work/gardening gloves will no longer be available to borrow; please bring your own.
  • Equipment, such as loppers and hand saws needed for shrub removal projects, will be thoroughly sanitized between users; however, you’re welcome to bring and use your own.

Highland Recreation Area: Saturday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

New meeting location: Barn Course Field Trial Area parking lot off Livingston Road, between Pettibone Lake and Beaumont roads.

Join ongoing efforts to restore this area to an open grassland. Volunteers will be cutting invasive shrubs such as autumn olive.
