Ready for deer season? DNR shooting ranges offer extended hours

We’re offering extended hours at the DNR shooting ranges to help hunters prepare for the firearm deer season.

The ranges will be open six days per week in October (closed Tuesday) and seven days per week Nov. 1-15 (including Election Day and Veterans Day).

Ortonville and Pontiac Lake shooting hours are 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Rose Lake and Sharonville shooting hours are 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

In addition, we’re offering extended weekend shooting hours Oct. 24 -25, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14:

  • Ortonville and Pontiac Lake will be open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Rose Lake and Sharonville will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
