COVID-19 Closure Update
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Gov. Whitmer's order to extend work from home for state employees through Jan. 2, 2021, the Michigan History Museum in Lansing, the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee and the Archives of Michigan in Lansing will remain closed to the public at least through Jan. 2, 2021. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.

Archives of Michigan offers virtual reference services
Although the reading room at the Archives of Michigan remains closed, the archives team is providing research assistance by phone at 517-335-2576 and email at Archives@Michigan.gov. You can also request a free virtual appointment.

The Archives of Michigan is celebrating Family History Month by offering a weekly series of genealogy workshops free to existing and new members.
These workshops, which take place on Wednesdays in October at 7 p.m., expand your skills and help you discover your family stories. Both existing and new members can use the links below for more information and to register:
