Wilderness State Park to open new reservations Wednesday for overnight camping dates Aug. 3 and later 

The planned redevelopment project at Wilderness State Park's East Lakeshore Campground (sites 1-75) in Emmet County was put on hold for 2020. As a result, reservations will open up for overnight camping dates beginning Monday, Aug. 3, and later.

Reservations for those added camping opportunities will be released back into the reservation system at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 29. 

The campground will look the same as it has in the past, with a few minor changes. The DNR is working on a new timeline for the redevelopment project.
