Thank you for your support of the Michigan History Center!

Just as the COVID-19 pandemic has changed all our lives, it has also changed how we are doing the essential work of preserving, protecting and sharing Michigan’s history.

During the closure of our museums, historic sites and the archives, we have:

• Added resources online, including educational and fun videos filmed by our staff at their homes. 
• Posted fascinating articles and blog posts on all aspects of our state’s history.

Educator Christine has made several kids videos, including this one on letter writing.

• Begun improving our Michiganology.org website, which is home to more than a million digital records. It is undergoing a migration to an improved server, which will enhance researcher access by late June
• Partnered with the Detroit Free Press on project to collect the photos, videos, and audio recordings that document Michiganders’ COVID-19 experiences.

• Joined our colleagues at the Department of Natural Resources in sharing educational resources on the Nature at Home webpage and supplied history questions for the MichiGame virtual trivia game kit.

We also, for the first time, are making the Archives of Michigan’s award-winning publication, TRACE, available electronically.

Since launching in 2017, TRACE has only been available in print, and as a benefit of membership to the Michigan History Center.
