Lexington State Harbor

As we embrace this summer’s new normal, one thing that remains steadfast for Michiganders is our passion for freshwater adventures. With DNR-managed harbors now open, we’re sharing some important information about the upcoming boating season.

Looking for an overnight stay?

Reservations for harbor slips can be made up to six months in advance of a planned arrival date, and plenty of opportunities are available. Check the online reservation system or call the harbor directly.

Keep these closures and changes in service in mind:

  • Cedar River Harbor is slated to open Friday, June 19 due to water testing.
  • Due to high water levels, Hammond Bay State Harbor is closed for the 2020 season. The site is still open as a harbor of refuge, and the connected boating access site will remain open.
  • Due to repairs at Lexington State Harbor, diesel fuel sales there are temporarily unavailable. Unleaded fuel sales are still available. Boaters can find diesel fuel for sale to the south in Port Huron (12-plus miles) and to the north on River Street Marina in Port Sanilac (approximately 8-10 miles).
  • Due to high water levels, Mackinac Island State Harbor's electrical conduits are submerged. As a result, electrical service is unavailable.
  • Port Austin State Harbor is open with limited services due to emergency repairs. Fuel dock services, pump-outs and limited day dockage are currently available on the east dock. While no new reservations are being taken at this time, the harbor will fully reopen as soon as construction is completed.
  • The restaurant located at Presque Isle State Harbor is temporarily closed while the DNR seeks a new operator.
