Adopt-A-Game-Area program improves grassland habitat, recognizes sponsors

In 2019, the Adopt-A-Game-Area program raised $389,515 for grassland restoration and improvement projects at southern Michigan state game and recreation areas.

The program, a partnership between the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Pheasants Forever and the Hal and Jean Glassen Foundation, allows corporations, individuals and organizations to sponsor grassland habitat projects on state-managed lands they use and appreciate.

“Financial support from our dedicated chapters, as well as corporate giving from a wide range of businesses, allowed the Adopt-A-Game-Area program to flourish in its first year,” said Ben Beaman, Michigan coordinating wildlife biologist with Pheasants Forever. “This program is setting a high bar for grassland restoration efforts throughout the state’s southern tier and has proven extremely additive to the Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative.”

Program partners would like to recognize the following organizations for their generous contributions to the program in 2019.
