Tawas Point State Park's annual Haunted Lighthouse Weekend returns with hayrides, tours and family-friendly games and activities!

The festivities begin on the lighthouse grounds on Friday, Oct. 11 from 5 - 9 p.m. and continue Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Monster Bash Dance takes place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, join a free hayride around the park and lighthouse. Dress in costume IF YOU DARE....or come as you are! You can also see the Tawas Point Lighthouse "in costume" with spooky Halloween garb.... but BEWARE, you may not believe your eyes and ears. Tickets for the lighthouse tour are $2 per person and can be purchased at the gift shop.

The hayrides and lighthouse tours continue Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., along with free family-friendly games and activities. Guests of all ages can paint a pumpkin, try to bite an apple on a string, make a corn husk doll and play lawn games like corn hole, croquet and more.

Children dressed in Halloween costumes are hula-hooping.

Take a family picture at one of our fun themed photo opportunities, including a pirate ship, a haunted cemetery, a "magical" tree stump and, of course, the historic Tawas Point Lighthouse.

From 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, dress up in your favorite costume and attend the Monster Bash Dance at the park's pavilion. A DJ will play all your favorite Halloween hits and light refreshments will be served.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of Tawas Point Lighthouse and State Park, with support from Tawas Point State Park and the Michigan History Center. For more information about the event, contact the Friends of Tawas Point Lighthouse and State Park at info@tawaslighthousefriends.com
