The most recent Pure Michigan Hunt recipients wrapped up their first hunt of the season last month – spring turkey.
Hitting the woods in pursuit of gobblers was their first opportunity to put some of the items they took home from Pure Michigan Hunt sponsors (pictured above) to good use, and two of the three hunters walked away with a bird.
Jesse Jubb of Bath had been hard at work scouting and was very excited to get out in the woods. His hard work paid off, and he harvested a 26-pound bird with a 10-inch beard and 1.5-inch spurs.

John Murphy of Lapeer may not have bagged the gray tom he was hoping for, but he nabbed a 22-pound Pure Michigan gobbler with a 10.25-inch inch beard and 1-inch spurs.
To get your chance at the Pure Michigan Hunt for next year, all you need to do is apply. Each $5 application gets you a shot at Michigan's ultimate hunt experience, with licenses for elk, bear, spring and fall turkey, and antlerless deer and first pick at a managed waterfowl area for a reserved hunt. You also could walk away with a hunting equipment prize package like the three happy hunters pictured above. There is no limit to the number of applications you can get.
