Our most recent Pure Michigan Hunt recipients are gearing up for their first hunt of the season – spring turkey. Hitting the woods in pursuit of gobblers is their first opportunity to put some of the items they took home from Pure Michigan Hunt sponsors (pictured above) to good use.
Jesse Jubb of Bath has been hard at work scouting and is very excited to get out in the woods (see his scouting pictures on the right).
"We're excited for the season to begin, Jubb said. "I've been seeing toms every day around my place. We're going to have a great turkey season and my camera will be rolling."
Greg Burks of White Lake also provided an update on what he's been up to as he gets ready for his spring turkey season, saying, "I'm getting excited to go and have received several offers from friends to take me turkey hunting. I've been out scouting places in Highland, Davisburg and my hometown area in White Lake. So many opportunities but only one license!"
Finally, John Murphy of Lapeer shared how he has his eyes on one bird in particular that he's hoping to bag this season: "I'm really excited! I have a very nice, smokey gray tom on the Lapeer County property that I'll be hunting."
To get your chance at the Pure Michigan Hunt for next year, all you need to do is apply. Each $5 application gets you a shot at Michigan's ultimate hunt experience, with licenses for elk, bear, spring and fall turkey, and antlerless deer and first pick at a managed waterfowl area for a reserved hunt. You also could walk away with a hunting equipment package like the three happy hunters pictured above. There is no limit to the number of applications you can get.
