The OGL Coastal Management Program is pleased to open a special grant funding opportunity for community planning projects that lead to implementation of small-scale, site-specific projects. Projects will protect coastal natural resources and connect people to the Great Lakes.
The funding opportunity is part of the Coastal Program's Coastal Healthy Habitat, Waters, and Communities Initiative established to support nature-based solutions, enhance coastal public access and protect water quality. Program coordinators will provide technical assistance to grantees.
Through a partnership with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, $225,000 in funding will be made available. Successful planning projects will be considered for implementation funds.
Deadline: June 17, 2019
For assistance: Contact Coastal Habitat Coordinator Karen Boase or Coastal Water Quality Coordinator Madeleine Gorman.
Notice: The Office of the Great Lakes will transfer from the Department of Natural Resources to the new Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) April 22, 2019. Grant processes will not be interrupted.
Michigan’s Coastal Management Program works in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which supports a network of state-federal partnerships protecting America’s coasts.
