Coastal Program opens annual grant funding opportunity
The Michigan Coastal Management Program is announcing its annual grant funding opportunity to support coastal communities
in work to protect, restore and enhance their coasts.
This grant opportunity invites Michigan’s Coastal Zone communities to submit proposals for work in five focus areas: Hazard management, coastal habitat, water quality, community development and public access.
For 40 years, Michigan’s Coastal Management Program, in
partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has
assisted coastal communities with technical assistance and grant
funding.
Past partnerships have yielded projects including beach safety initiatives, habitat restoration, water quality programs, resilient master plan development and installation of boardwalks and kayak launches.
