Fall turkey licenses and
reserved waterfowl applications

Buy a turkey license

Today is the first day all hunters have the chance to buy over-the-counter fall turkey licenses. You can buy one license per day until quotas are met in available units. Visit mi.gov/turkey for more info or to buy. Season starts Sept. 15.

Apply for Pure Michigan Hunt

Elk, bear, antlerless deer, and spring and fall turkey licenses, plus first pick at a managed waterfowl area, could be yours – along with a $4,000 hunting prize package. Visit mi.gov/pmh for more info or to apply.

Apply for Waterfowl

Waterfowl reserved hunt applications are available through Tuesday, Aug. 28. Reserved hunts will be held both mornings and afternoons of the opening weekend. Visit mi.gov/waterfowl for more info or to apply.

Reminder: Final days to purchase waterfowl reserved hunt applications

Reserved waterfowl hunt applications are only available through Tuesday, Aug. 28.

To apply for reserved hunts on certain managed waterfowl areas, visit a license agent or mi.gov/waterfowl. Applications are $5, and hunters may apply only once. Drawing results will be posted Sept. 18.

Reserved hunts will be held both mornings and afternoons of the opening weekend (Oct. 13 and 14) of waterfowl hunting season at Fish Point State Wildlife Area, Harsens Island and Shiawassee River State Game Area.

The maximum party size is four hunters. For morning hunts and the second-day hunts, successful applicants must have appropriate licenses and stamps and be accompanied by one to three other appropriately licensed hunters. Youth have a special opportunity because the opening-day afternoon hunts are for those 16 and younger. Successful applicants for the opening-day afternoon hunts can have up to two adults who are 18 years of age or older with appropriate licenses.

Hunters have an additional opportunity to participate in a reserved waterfowl hunt by applying for the Pure Michigan Hunt drawing. Each application is $5, and hunters may apply as many times as they like until Dec. 31. Three lucky winners will receive a hunt package that includes reserved waterfowl, elk, bear, turkey and antlerless deer licenses. For more information, visit the Pure Michigan Hunt page.

Michigan’s managed waterfowl areas offer first-class waterfowl hunting and other outdoor recreation opportunities. Learn more about Michigan’s Wetland Wonders.
