DNR to host open house Aug. 23 on proposed boating access site on East Grand Traverse Bay
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will host a public open house Thursday, Aug. 23, to encourage the public to weigh in on a proposed development of the Old Mooring boating access site on East Grand Traverse Bay in Peninsula Township (Grand Traverse County).
The open house will run 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Township Hall meeting room, 13235 Center Road.
DNR staff will be available to answer questions and gather input from the public regarding site analysis and a proposed design concept. People are welcome to attend at any time during the open forum.
The project is funded through the Michigan State Waterways Fund. This restricted fund, derived from boat registration fees and the Michigan marine fuel tax, helps pay for the construction, operation and maintenance of public recreational boating facilities.
For more information on this project, contact Annamarie Bauer at 231-775-9727. To learn more about the state waterways program, contact Jordan Byelich at 517-284-6087.
