Aug. 1 ribbon-cutting celebrates improvements at East Tawas State Harbor

When: Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m.

Where: East Tawas State Harbor, 113 Newman St. in East Tawas

As part of a major reconstruction project at East Tawas State Harbor in Iosco County, Michigan, boaters now can access modern amenities, improved safety features and a stronger connection to the local community.

Join the DNR, partners, officials and guest speakers to help celebrate the completion of two years of work to bring new enhancements to the harbor. Upgrades include floating docks for 120-plus slips of various sizes, broadside dockage, electrical pedestals, a dock attendant building and fuel and pump-out systems.

The $5 million project was funded with Michigan State Waterways funds and federal grant funds through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Join us for refreshments, rain or shine!
