DNR to host May 22 open house on proposed boating access site on Union Lake

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on a proposed design for a boating access site on Union Lake, near the intersection of Union Lake and Wise roads, in Oakland County

The public open house will take place Tuesday, May 22, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Commerce Township offices, located at 2009 Township Drive in Commerce Township.

At the open house, DNR staff will be on hand to answer questions and gather input from the public about the site analysis, proposed design and other factors. The public is welcome to attend at any time during the two-hour open forum.

The project is funded through the Michigan State Waterways Fund. This restricted fund, derived from boat registration fees and the Michigan marine fuel tax, helps fund the construction, operation and maintenance of public recreational boating facilities.
