Get ready for Free Fishing Weekend June 9-10
Be sure to cast a line from your boat during Free Fishing Weekend June 9-10! Residents and non-residents can enjoy two back-to-back days of fishing without
a license. All other fishing regulations apply.
At the same time, the DNR is waiving the regular Recreation Passport entry fee that grants vehicle access to Michigan’s 103 state parks. The weekend also lines up with the first Free ORV Weekend of the year.

Share your thoughts with the DNR at June meetings
The DNR is committed to providing citizens opportunity to share input and ideas on policy decisions, programs and other aspects of natural resource management and outdoor recreation opportunities, including the waterways program.
The Michigan State Waterways Commission is a seven-member advisory board that works with the DNR on the use of dedicated funds, provided by boaters, for the acquisition, development and maintenance of public harbors and boating access sites, as well as certain locks and dams.
The commission will hold its next meeting Friday, June 8, at the city hall offices Bay City, 301 Washington Ave. The meetings move around the state and the public is welcome.
Visit michigan.gov/boating for more information on boating safety, enrolling in a safety course, boat registration and more.
