The popular DTE Energy Foundation Trail in Waterloo Recreation Area gives riders access to more technical and challenging terrain with its series of loops. Gain confidence in your abilities with our Mountain Bike Skills and On-Trail Service Clinic in Chelsea May 5 and 6.

Featuring instruction from Aberdeen Bike Shop owner Mike Casey and the Aberdeen Mountain Bike Team, the class will cover basic to intermediate trail-riding skills and basic on-trail repairs. Learn the fundamentals of bike handling, braking, shifting, pedaling techniques, cornering, climbing, descending and positioning. A more advanced set of skills for intermediate riders will include front and rear wheel lifts, jumping, dropping and pumping. The on-trail service portion of the class will cover common repairs that can be made on the trail to ensure you’re able to ride out of the woods.

Cost is $85. Lunch and a service kit seat bag, multi-tool and inner tube from Aberdeen Bikes are included. Registration deadline is April 23.
