The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Skills Academy will offer a spring turkey hunting clinic at Waterloo Recreation Area’s Eddy Discovery Center in Chelsea Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Spring turkey season is a favorite around Waterloo Recreation Area. Join DNR Conservation Officer Dan Prince for a broad look at the basics of hunter safety, shotgun patterning, tactics and calling. Prince also will cover decoys, blinds and other tricks of a successful hunt. Waterloo staff members will share insider information on turkey habitat in the park and help participants map out a successful hunt.

Cost is $20, which includes lunch.

Register online for the spring turkey hunting clinic. Registration is required by March 23. Cancellations must be made by March 26 in order to guarantee a full refund.

For more information, contact park interpreter Katie McGlashen at 734-475-3170 or McGlashenK@michigan.gov.

The Eddy Discovery Center is located inside Waterloo Recreation Area at 17030 Bush Road in Chelsea. A Recreation Passport is required for entry into the recreation area and the Saginaw River Boat Launch.
