Funding the Michigan boating facilities we love
Did you know when you register your boat or fuel up at the pump, you are helping fund more than 1,000 boat launches, 19 state harbors and grants that support local boating facility projects?
The revenues from watercraft registration and the Michigan Gas Tax help pay for the ongoing maintenance at public recreational boating facilities, which benefit local and regional economies and contribute to statewide tourism.

Make sure your watercraft registration is up to date
Don't be left high and dry. Boating season is just around the corner, so be sure your boat registration is up to date.
All watercraft, unless exempt, must be registered with the Michigan Secretary of State. Registrations expire March 31 in the third year of issuance. Registrations can be renewed online, by mail or in person.
