Celebrate the splendor of fall at Belle Isle's harvest festival this weekend

Visitors enjoy Belle Isle's Harvest FestCatch Belle Isle Park's annual harvest festival, featuring fall-themed activities and games for all ages, Saturday, Oct. 28, noon to 3 p.m. at the Detroit island park. The event is free and open to the public.  and will be located outdoors under tents in the open space south of the White House park administrative building on Inselruhe Avenue. 

The weekend festival is hosted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources with support from the Belle Isle Conservancy and Detroit-area businesses, including Riverside Kayak Connection, Detroit Institute of Art, Big A’s Concession, iHeart Media Radio, Crepe Day-Twah, Nosh Pit Detroit and Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.

Harvest festivals are a popular seasonal tradition at many Michigan state parks. Festivities include:

  • Face painting.
  • Pumpkin decorating.
  • Warm cider and donuts (while supplies last).
  • Fall-themed games.
  • Tractor-pulled hayrides.
  • S’mores (while supplies last).
  • Petting farm.
