Shiawassee River State Game Area’s Miller Road boat launch site closed until mid-February

The Miller Road boat launch at Saginaw County’s Shiawassee River State Game Area, at the intersection of Miller and Hart roads, will be closed to the public until mid-February due to ongoing bridge construction. The closure began Monday, Jan. 9, and is in effect to ensure public safety while construction is completed.

All other public boat launch sites at Shiawassee River State Game Area remain open during this time. For information about alternate launch sites, contact the Shiawassee River State Game Area office at 989-865-6211.

Shiawassee River State Game Area, roughly 10,000 acres of intensively managed waterfowl habitat, is the largest managed waterfowl hunt area Michigan has to offer. Located in St. Charles, Michigan, the state game area is a massive floodplain located at the confluence of the Flint, Shiawassee, Bad, Cass and Tittabawassee rivers, as well as Swan Creek. This unique geographical feature creates outstanding waterfowl habitat.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state’s natural and cultural resources for current and future generations. For more information, go to www.michigan.gov/dnr.
