This class will take place at Tails-a-Waggin' Acres game bird preserve in Marion, Michigan. DNR Outdoor Skills Academy instructors will offer an “A to Z” introduction on how to hunt upland birds such as pheasants. Following the instructional portion of the class, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever and Tails-a-Waggin' will provide guided pheasant hunts.

The clinic is open to first-time bird hunters, 16 years of age or older. The class will start at the Tails-a-Waggin' clubhouse at 10 a.m., with lunch at noon and hunting in the afternoon. There will be a selection of shotguns available to use the day of the event, but participants are welcome to bring their own shotguns.

The cost for this class is $35 and includes the instruction and guided hunt, lunch, National Wild Turkey Federation membership, a hat and a Bass Pro Shops gift card.

Registration for the clinic is available on the Michigan e-store at Michigan.gov/estore. For more information, or to register by phone or email, contact Ed Shaw at 231-779-1321 or shawe@michigan.gov.
