DNR welcomes public to open house at Allegan State Game Area May 20
The Department of Natural Resources will host an open house Friday, May 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Allegan State Game Area headquarters, located at 4590 118 Ave. in Allegan, Michigan.
Topics for discussion will include area master plan updates and current management activities, including upcoming timber sales. Handouts and maps offering more information about the area will be available.
State game area master plans provide direction for habitat management based on the featured species selected for management at the state game area, as well as for recreation use of the area, including hunting and wildlife viewing. Management objectives outlined in the master plan also may affect local economies through activities like timber sales, agricultural production and wildlife-based tourism.
