DNR seeks input on plans for state game areas in southwestern Michigan

Department of Natural Resources state game area managers are seeking public input related to master plans for several areas in the southwestern region of Michigan.

State game area master plans provide direction for habitat management, based on both the featured species selected for management at each state game area and use of the areas for recreation such as hunting and wildlife viewing. Management objectives outlined in the master plans also may impact local economies through activities like timber sales, agricultural production and wildlife-based tourism.

Draft master plans are available online at the links below:

These plans will be available for review through Feb. 6. Comments may be submitted directly to the author via email. Email addresses are listed above, as well as within the master plan drafts.

After Feb. 6, authors will review comments and make updates if necessary. The final master plans will be made available on the DNR website by April 1.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state’s natural and cultural resources for current and future generations. For more information, go to www.michigan.gov/dnr.
