Owl Prowls offers outdoor fun at Bald Mountain Recreation Area

Participants of the Owl Prowl hike gather around a campfire to get warm.Families and friends are invited to bundle up and enjoy an evening adventure searching for owls at Bald Mountain Recreation Area Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m.

These free evening programs feature a guided walk through the woods in search of owls and other wild nightlife, as well as some time around the campfire. Owl Prowls are a fun way to get outdoors, spend time with friends and family, and learn about Michigan's wildlife. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather, as the event will take place snow, rain or shine.

Bald Mountain Recreation Area is located at 1330 E. Greenshield Road in Lake Orion, Michigan. Attendees should meet at the Cherry Ridge Shelter.

There is no charge to participate in the Owl Prowl, but a Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry to Bald Mountain Recreation Area.
