Missaukee County snowmobile trail rerouted for bridge construction

Ham Creek Bridge over Snowmobile Trail #6 in Missaukee CountyThe Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced that a short, 1-mile section of Snowmobile Trail No. 6 in northwestern Missaukee County has been rerouted along county road shoulders. The trail section will remain closed throughout the 2015-16 snowmobile season for bridge structure replacement due to unsafe passage conditions.

The DNR hired a consultant to develop bridge design plans and cost estimates in order to construct a new bridge structure over Ham Creek. A construction schedule has not yet been developed.

Snowmobilers can utilize an alternate route along North Morey and North Lanning road shoulders that bypasses the Ham Creek bridge. See map showing trail closure and alternate route
