DNR reopens Bodi Lake boat launch in Luce County
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today that construction begun last month on a new boat launch at Bodi Lake in northeastern Luce County has 
been completed. The boating access site has reopened.
Work began June 29 on the $6,000 project, which was funded by the DNR’s boating program.
“This new boat launch will give boaters improved access to Bodi Lake,” said Craig Krepps, DNR unit supervisor.
The old boat launch consisted of 12-foot-wide concrete slabs bolted together, which did not extend into the water. The new launch is 18-foot-wide concrete and allows for easier launching. In addition, workers dredged the lake bottom around the launch to a depth of more than 4 feet.
The boat launch is located off Luce County Road 437 in McMillan Township, within the Bodi Lake State Forest Campground.
“The 306-acre lake has a maximum depth of 45 feet and is popular with anglers stalking walleye, northern pike and perch,” Krepps said.
