Michigan Wildlife Council selects Güd Marketing for campaign to
elevate state’s hunting, fishing and trapping traditions
The Michigan Wildlife Council today announced that, after a lengthy request-for-proposals review and evaluation process, it has selected Güd (pronounced “good”) Marketing to lead a multiyear promotional campaign focused on increasing public awareness about the importance of Michigan's hunting, fishing and trapping traditions to wildlife and habitat management statewide.
Carol Moncrieff Rose, chair of the Michigan Wildlife Council, described Güd Marketing (formerly Pace & Partners) of Lansing, Michigan, as an industry leader built on a foundation of deep strategic involvement, creative excellence and responsiveness.
“Güd Marketing has more than 30 years of experience creating meaningful strategies and messaging,” said Rose. “We look forward to working with Güd Marketing to help us share the story of Michigan’s sportsmen and sportswomen in a way that most strongly connects and resonates with residents.
“We went through an extensive review of the 10 respondents to the RFP to find the right agency for our needs and Güd Marketing had the best mix of research and messaging and marketing experience,” she added. “They also have a proven track record of success and understand how to effectively communicate to our target audience.”
Under the direction of the Michigan Wildlife Council, Güd Marketing will collect, compile and analyze baseline research to understand non-sportspersons’ attitudes and perceptions about hunting, fishing and the taking of game and the many benefits derived from those activities. The research findings and reports will shape the development of a comprehensive media-based information campaign that incorporates brand identification, key messaging components and creative imagery.
Rose said the Michigan Wildlife Council is excited about leveraging the creative and strategic insights of Güd Marketing to promote the vital role hunters, anglers and trappers play in conserving Michigan’s wildlife and to help convey how sportsmen and sportswomen make real contributions, every day, to Michigan’s natural resources, economy and outdoor heritage.
“Güd Marketing looks forward to this landmark opportunity to help the Michigan Wildlife Council tell the story of Michigan’s sportsmen and sportswomen, who do so much for our great state,” said Debbie Horak, principal at Güd Marketing.
