Respite Care Opportunities in Michigan
Caregivers spend significant time and energy caring for their children. Even the best caregivers need an occasional break. For this reason, MDHHS Foster Care is excited to announce available respite care services.
Respite care provides short-term relief to foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers by allowing them to take a break while ensuring that the youth in their care continue to receive the support they need.
Five respite agencies currently serve Michigan caregivers—U.P. Kids, Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan, Spaulding for Children, Heart for Home, and Ennis Center for Children. These agencies are currently taking requests from families in need of respite.
They are also accepting applications from those who are interested in providing short-term care. If you are interested in taking steps to become licensed to provide care or are ready for a break, check out more information on our website.
