Dear Immunization Partners,
Do you know of an individual who is homebound and in need of a COVID-19 vaccine? Disability Rights of Michigan (DRM) can help.
DRM offers mobile vaccination services under contract with DocGo, a national health care provider. These include:
- In-home COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters for anyone over age 5 whose age or disability prevents them from leaving home to get vaccinated
- COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters to family members and caregivers on the same visit AND
- Flu shots to eligible individuals who are receiving COVID-19 shots
DRM also works with local communities, public housing sites, homeless shelters, day programs, and facilities housing people with disabilities to conduct COVID-19 vaccine clinics on site. At these clinics, DRM offers modest gift card incentives to COVID-19 vaccine recipients. At many clinics, they have partnered with Meridian Health to offer flu shots and incentives for these vaccines.
To request services individuals and providers should contact Disability Rights Michigan by calling (800) 288-5923 and asking for the intake unit, or requesting services through the “Need Help” portal on their website, www.drmich.org. An intake specialist will speak with you and gather basic information, then forward your request to the Vaccine Advocacy Team who will schedule your event.
- All of these services are free of charge and are available with or without insurance coverage
- DRM services are available statewide
- DRM will schedule services as soon as possible upon request. Their current turnaround time is 1-3 weeks
- DRM is funded through 6/30/24, so the services listed above will be available at least until that date
For questions contact Mark McWilliams, Director of Advocacy, at (800) 288-5923, or via email at mmcwilliams@drmich.org or Tamela Phillips, Vaccine Advocate, at (517) 487-1755 or via email at tphillips@drmich.org.
Information about DRM is also available to the public through the MDHHS COVID-19 hotline at 888-535-6136
Thank you for all you do to protect Michiganders against vaccine preventable disease.
