Happy Monday!

In our last correspondence, I informed you about the FCC's new Emergency Broadband Benefit, a $50 a month subsidy for internet access and a one-time $100 subsidy for a device, for those who qualify. To date, over 2.3 million families nation-wide have enrolled into the program. Michigan has enrolled 85,000 individuals, although we know many more qualify for the subsidy. This subsidy has the potential to reduce the barrier of affordability to internet adoption.

Through Connect 313, awareness and enrollment support has been activated so that anyone interested in the subsidy can talk to someone to see check their likelihood of qualifying for the benefit, receive assistance in navigating communication with their internet service provider, or even identify a NEW service provider. Residents can also walk into one of the listed Community Partners for face-to-face support.
